brief description

Ping pong is a game that is known for its social nature, accessibility, and versatility. However, beginners often face challenges during the learning process. One particular difficulty we observed was novices struggling to position the racket correctly when serving, which disrupted the flow of the game. To address this issue, we developed the innovative "Tilt Racket." The "Tilt Racket" is an interactive racket equipped with a sensor that detects the position of the ball. Based on this information, the racket can tilt accordingly, aiding the player in maintaining the game's flow while simultaneously training their skills. By incorporating this responsive technology, we aim to enhance the novice's learning experience and facilitate the development of their muscle memory. Our project commenced with a comprehensive examination of various aspects of ping pong practice, including the body mechanics involved, the social dynamics, and the contextual factors. Through meticulous observation and body sketching exercises, we closely studied players with different skill levels. Ultimately, we decided to focus on supporting novices in improving their skills through targeted practice. By addressing the specific challenge of racket positioning during serving, the "Tilt Racket" empowers beginners to overcome this hurdle and progress in their ping pong journey. Through our innovative approach and consideration of various practice elements, we aspire to make the learning process more enjoyable and effective for novice players.
